The competitive program introduces swimmers to the Train-to- Train and the Train-to- Compete phases of the Swim Canada Long Term Swimmer Development (LTSD) model. While becoming more efficient in the water, there is more endurance focus and swimmers in this group are required to swim four or five practices (8+ hours) per week. Setting goals and personal best times comes into focus.
The competitive group participates in up to 8 sanctioned swim meets during the season, this includes both local and out-of- town swim meets.
This program runs from early September to June. Practices are (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) from 3:30 – 5:20pm, and Sundays 7:30-9:00am at the Nick Smith Centre. Optional, independent swim times are also available from Monday to Thursday in the mornings (6:30-7:50am).
